· In flex groups, the teacher will work with groups of 2-4 students on the interactive whiteboard to facilitate the creation of a unique story. The story will be showcased with the class and a unique discussion will follow regarding the elements and events of the story, along with a personal connection to it.

Critical Thinking – students will apply what they know about story elements to create a unique story of their own. Students will be sure that the story is sequential, makes sense and that the pictures match the words. This is the students chance to express their ideas and thoughts about stories without the restrictions of another authors. This is their time to shine as the author!
Creativity – through multi-media, students will create and sequence their own story. The possibilities are endless as to the stories they can create using the story bird. Another possibility for teachers if they want to use authentic, student created drawings is www.littlebirdtales.com.
